Acidude Wallpaper Calendar is desktop calendar and more. With it you can create a transparent calendar to be displayed over your desktop and turn your wallpaper into an automatic slide show. You can even place an overlay image (such as a company logo) on the background so it will always be displayed, even when the wallpaper changes.

Each month has a bridge to the next, allowing you to look ahead, and each day of the calendar has a notes field to remind you about important events.

This program also boasts an e-mail checker. Just set the program to access your e-mail software and give you an audio notification when you receive new mail. You can use the default sound or replace it with your own WAV file.
